A Baileigh DP-1500G gear head pillar drill is rigidly designed for heavy duty drilling.  The column is a massive 140mm diameter to help reduce possible flexing during operations with materials at maximum capacity, which is  38mm (1-1/2”) through mild steel.  The stand base and drilling table are made from a heavy casting both having large T-slots to allow for proper holding of any material being drilled.

The gear and transmission system on the DP-1500G allows for a variety of speeds. This is to accommodate different materials for drilling and tapping processes. A standard feature is the No. 4 Morse Taper that allows for the appropriate transfer of power from the drill head to the material.
