Model 800 Tube Notcher and Pipe Notcher Machine Tool Overview
The model 800 tube notcher and pipe notcher uses one tool to notch from 1 to 3 inch tubing without the need
for changing cutters. It is an exquisite machine tool.
This machine tool is the perfect pipe notcher to create perfect weld joints in chromolly, mild steel, stainless steel,
aluminum, and many other materials.
This is accomplished by our patented eccentric cut feature. The model 800 pipe notcher uses one cutter
to make notches from 1” to 3” tubing. The cutter rotates while orbiting on an eccentric path.
This model 800 tube notcher, like many of our products, is portable. It has a ruggedly built stand
with large wheels and casters allows for fast and easy mobility.
This tube notcher requires 110 V, Single Phase, 50 Hertz (15 Amp).
Another added value for the Model 800 tube notcher machine tool is that once cutter can cut everything
in the spectrum of tube or pipe so there are no other tools to buy. The cutter can also be re-sharpened
many times providing for savings in tool costs.
This tube notcher will produce cleaner notches in a quicker time frame than an abrasive style machine tool tube notcher without sparks. With this pipe notcher dust and excessive heat are non-existent. This tube
notcher will not contaminate the weld joint, offering more strength within the weld joint. No ongoing costly
abrasive belt replacement or need for costly bearing mandrels for different size tubes or pipes.

The orbiting path is adjusted by loosening the 3 lock bolts, and then rotating the adjusting screw.
Model 800 Tube Notcher and Pipe Notcher Vise Features Explanation
The V-Jaw Vise on the Model 800 Tube Notcher has the ability of being rotated in either direction up to
60 degrees allowing for angled notches. Also the V-Block on the vise can be adjusted up and down allowing
the Pipe Notcher to accomplish off center notches.
Tube Notcher and Pipe Notcher Notching Process Explanation
Here is a quick explanation of the notching process.
- Make sure all electrical power sources are disconnected.
- Insert your tubing or pipe into the vise. Leaving enough material beyond the vise to make the notch.
- Adjust your eccentric offset screw until the indicator reads the same as the physical outside diameter of your tube or pipe you wish to notch on your tube notcher.
- Make sure the ZERO point indicators are aligned.
- Make sure ALL guards are in place
- Plug the Tube Notcher into a 110v power source.
- Using the X and Y hand wheels on the V-Jaw vise position the material as close to the spindle as possible.
- Once again make sure that the zero indicators are aligned on the tube notcher machine tool.
- Turn on the power switch on the tube notcher.
- Take grip of the large feed hand wheel. Slowly turn the hand wheel counter clockwise on the tube notcher.
Please note this feed hand wheel has an anti-reverse clutch on it.
- Continue to rotate the feed hand wheel until the zero indicators are aligned.
